The Oak Square ClockWhere's the Clock? March 13, 1999
Have you noticed that our "post" clock has been missing in action since the Oak Square track removal construction began? If you had fleeting thoughts that we may never see our dear timepiece again (which is either a "Seth Thomas" or "Howard" replica), worry no more. "The Mayor is very committed to those community square clocks," says coordinator Haley Snaddon, at the Office of Neighborhood Services (635-2678). A quick response from Leann Bowman of City Councilman
Brian Honan's office revealed that the clock is safe and sound in our DPW (Dept. of Public Works) lot on Western Avenue. It will be returned to its spot when the road work is completed, scheduled for some time before the summer. Due to the unseasonably warm weather this past fall, the construction continued on into December which allowed workers to make up for delays. Construction season usually ends in November.
