City Councilor Jerry McDermott is leading a team of volunteers at the Oak Square YMCA.on Saturday June 14th to clean the Oak Square area. Volunteers are asked to come to the Y anytime from 8:30am-2pm and get involved- tools, coffee will be provided.

BOSTON HISTORIC HOME WORKS: Gross annual income can not exceed 55,000 for an individual or 85,000 for a household. Maximum grant awards range from 3,000-5,000

Faneuil Library. The family business is failing, the mortgage payments are overdue and to top things off, Ben Packer has suffered a minor stroke. His wife Nettie hopes that their two grown children, Ruthie and Aaron can somehow save the family. Around the Seder table, the family along with Mark (who has been in love with Ruthie since childhood) and Ozzie (an old family friend) will try to solve their problems once and for all. Barry Brodsky is an award-winning playwright. He was born, raised and educated in Boston. He was the 2000 finalist in the National Playwright’s Conference.

Event: Recollecting Allston-Brighton: Part 2

Faneuil Library. The second in a series of oral history meetings, Following up on a highly successful gathering at the Allston Library last March. A panel of long term residents will share their recollections of Allston-Brighton, with the focus this time upon the Oak Square/Faneuil section. Slides will be shown to stimulate memories, and there will be an opportunity for general audience input as well. The programs will be videotaped to provide a permanent record which will be deposited in the Historical Society’s archives. A unique oportunity to actually become part of our neighborhood’s recorded history.
